A Study on Japanese Encephalitis Vector and Amplifying Host prior to the Occurance of Human Epidemic
Japanese encephalitis has been widely known as prime acute communicable viral disease during the summer seaon in Korea. Many basic problems such as virus hibernating, vector resting habit & hibernating, wer still remained to be sloved although so many research works of this field has been done. And then, the Incidence of J.E. situation was so variety that prediction of comming year¢¥s epidemic size was not always conincidenced.
The author undertaken to study from first day of June to september for J.E. vector & host side which might be possibly countermeasure by administrative authority.
The results of studied were as follow;
1. Total collecteld swine blood specimen was 847 by weekly form july to September.
2. 50% of J.E. antibody in slaughter house pigs were risen between late of August to early september through all country.
3. First serological confirmed J.E. human case was occurred at almost same time that of 50% J.E. antibody converted in pigs and this phenomenon was delayed 23 days compared that of last year¢¥s
4. Only 2 J.E. strains were isolated on August 23 and 26 among 26 mosquitoes pool collected 5 different area from Pohang, Gyeong-Sang-Nam-Do and Goyang-Gun, Gyeong-Gi-Do respectively.
5. Peak population of Culex tritaeniorhynchus was shown between late of August to early September.
6. J.E. confirmed human cases were mainly occurred on end of September. It¢¥s nearly one month later after occurrance of J.E. human confirmed case and high peak of C.I. population.
